Today was my all-day volunteering day at the hospital because I signed up to help setup for the BBQ that the volunteer association was having. The sheet said to go in at 9:00, but Mike, one of the guys in charge had told me to go in around 10:00, 10:30, so I just went in around 9:30. Setting up consisted of moving tables, chairs, putting up tents, etc...I guess it's pretty obvious what was involved. I had my lunch there and helped serve some hamburgers before my afternoon Transport shift, which was bust at first but slowed way down. I got a discharge call mere minutes before my shift ended though. Everyone at the hospital is so nice. People kept saying thanks and stuff to me, and I'm just thinking I didn't really do that much or that I could have done more.
After I got home, I went on MSN and found Kelly being bored so we went downtown for a bit. I returned the two movies I took out, of which I only watched one (Epic Movie), and we went to Coffee Culture. I think I go there more than William's now actually. We went to the mall to see Tony, but he had already left or something, and so we went to the pet store. I think I'd like to get a turtle.
I stayed in again tonight, but I was bored. So, I played Scrabble on Facebook against Kelly, but the thundering outside kept cutting my power. It got pretty annoying, but it seems to have stopped now, and my Internet is still working. Below is a shot of how far I am with Buster.

I guess I'll mention this now too. The Frontline (newspaper at Mac by social science people from what I understand) was looking for submissions, so I sent three in. One of them was something old so that was kind of cheating. It was my short story I wrote for Writer's Craft, which I liked so I figured why not? Then I quickly wrote a random one page article, and a sestina, which surprisingly didn't take me very long to do for some reason. I don't think it's too bad either. Hopefully they publish one of them because apparently they're going to be hiring soon (paid position!), so having this would help when I apply. Also, the Careers Ambassador coordinator finally sent out a email regarding training dates, so I'm pretty much all set for that. Yay involvement and progress in my school life! Obviously this is nothing, but it's a start.
